The Display of iPad Mini was worse than the screens of the third or fourth generation iPad 9.7 inches tablets. So unlike the iPad Mini the next iPad Mini 2 will have a better screen resolution at least in the league of the iPad third or fourth generation. However it will not be easy for Apple to provide the same screen quality for the iPad Mini as its regular third or fourth generation iPad.
The screen resolution of the iPad Mini is 1024 X 768 resolution and 163pixel per inch density. If Apple wants to equal the screen resolution of its third or fourth generation iPad, it will have to double the pixel density to 326 PPI and also increase the resolution by four times to 2048 X 1536. This screen resolution will be hard to make and will also shoot up the price. Again it will be illogical to expect Apple to utilize 4:3 screen with 1600 X 1200 or 1792 X 1344 resolutions to trim costs as it will be mismatched with software for iPad and iPad with Retina Screen Tablets. So it is almost certain that the next generation iPad Mini will be featuring

Hence, it is nearly certain that the future iPad Mini 2 will feature 7.9 inch display with 2048 X 1536 resolutions.
